Web Analysis
TASK OVERVIEW:
1. Web Analysis 1: VVISUAL.biz
2. Web Analysis 2: Gufram.it
| Figure 3.1.1, VVISUAL.biz homepage. |
1. Purpose and Objectives
The website vvisual.biz appears to be a portfolio or demonstration website for graphic content—fashion, photography, modeling, or creative direction, for example. However, its purpose is not communicated because it lacks an "About" or "Services" page. New users will struggle to understand what the site offers or whom the intended audience is.
Recommendation: Incorporate a clear mission statement, service descriptions, or an intro section on the homepage or stand-alone "About" page. This will also allow users more easily to know what the site is about and what they will benefit from using it.
2. Visual Design and Layout
The visual design is minimalist in nature, using white space, full-width blocks of images, and monochromatic colors. The utilization of clean, modern fonts suits the artistic and high-end tone of the site.
Strengths:
- Sleek and modern design that appears appropriate for the creative sector.
- Immersive experience due to large imagery and full-width layout.
3. Functionality and Usability
Navigation is stripped down to the bare minimum with merely three core links: "Work," "Models," and "Contact." While the simplicity is appreciated, functionality is currently somewhat restricted.
Strengths:
- Skeletal menu design.
- Mobile responsiveness appears to be in place.
Weaknesses:
No search option, social media links, or conclusive call-to-action (CTA).
Recommendation: Direct all navigation links to important content. Incorporate a search box, social links, or CTAs like "View Portfolio" or "Book a Session" to aid navigation.
4. Quality and Relevance of Content
At present, the website lacks meaningful written content. Pages are thin or blank, with no descriptions of projects, bios, or contextual information present.
Recommendation: Add descriptive content for every project shown under "Work." Include team or model bios, a brand history, or behind-the-scenes information to add depth and personality. Make content grammatically correct, well-written, and well-structured for effortless reading.
5. Website Performance and Compatibility
The page loads quickly due to its lightness and minimal content. Responsiveness on desktop and mobile is good but more strenuous cross-device testing is advised.
