Lasso Tool

✧ Used for drawing and selecting specific areas of an image.
Figure 1.3, Lasso Tool.
✧ Three variations:
    - Lasso (freehand selection)
    - Polygonal Lasso (straight-edged selections)
    - Magnetic Lasso (auto-detects edges for selection)
✧ Best used with a graphic tablet for smoother, more precise selections.

Pen Tool

✧ Used for creating paths and shapes with precision by placing anchor points.
✧ Variations of paths
    - Straight lines
Figure 4, Straight Line
    - U-shaped curves
Figure 5, U-shaped Curves.
    - Simple and complex S curves

✧ Fewer anchor points result in smoother paths.

Layering in Photoshop
✧ Layers are separate images stacked to form one final image.
✧ Edits on each layer don't affect others, allowing for non-destructive editing.
✧ Layers allow for flexibility in adjusting the composition without altering the original image.

Practical

This week, I presented my three different compositions to Mr.Fauzi, and he selected the one featuring a prominent guitar and metallic text. He gave me feedback on how to improve the positioning of the elements, helping me refine the flow of the artwork.

Figure 2, My Final Composition.

I also introduced three new elements—each enhancing the overall mood of the composition. I focused on creating a visual path that guides the viewer’s gaze naturally through the piece, ensuring a seamless connection between the elements.

The dark guitar and heart motif help draw attention to the figure and integrate elements from different sections of the composition, forming a cohesive narrative. This path moves the eye from the bottom left upward, creating a dynamic journey through the frame.

The bold title “GIRLS” anchors the top of the composition, directing focus toward the central figure and balancing the weight of the artwork.

The star-like shape adds an additional layer of detail on the right, helping to create depth and encouraging the viewer to linger on specific points of interest.

This approach elevates the overall balance and harmony of the artwork, enhancing both its depth and emotional impact.
